Last Facebook supports screen resolution for iPhone XS Max, XR and iPad Pro

According to the latest report, after several months of launch, Facebook finally has updated their iOS apps to fully support the screen resolution of iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR as well as iPad Pro duo

This update brings specific support for screen resolutions of iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. So far, Facebook on new iPhone models with large screen sizes only runs in compatibility mode, which increases the resolution of iPhone XS 5.8 inch to a larger screen.

Supporting native resolution means that existing applications can actually take advantage of additional points available on the iPhone XS Max screen of 2,688 × 1,242 pixels and an iPhone XR screen of 1,792 × 828 pixels.

Reportedly, the iPhone XR is operating at twice the resolution of Retina, while the iPhone XS Max runs at 3 times the resolution of Retina. Both share the same logical drawing frame 896 × 414 points to display. This number is higher, in both directions, compared to the iPhone X / XS's logic resolution of 812 × 375.

These numbers mean you can see about 10% more content at a time in the Facebook app than when the app is running in compatibility mode. And the text will also be sharper on the screen because pixels can fit on the pixel boundary instead of being artificially stretched.

The update also removes black bars from the edges of the new iPad Pro screen, and supports full screen mode for iPad Pro 11 inches and 12.9 inches.

Facebook Messenger application has been updated this week with the same support for iPhone 2018.
